INTERIOR & ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN ASSISTANT
TMS Architects & Interiors is seeking an Interior and Architectural Assistant with a minimum of two years of professional experience, and an Interior Design or Architecture degree. The ideal candidate would be interested in being part of our award-winning interior design studio and architectural firm. Located in Portsmouth, NH, we have been serving the Seacoast and surrounding New England area for over three decades. Our portfolio includes luxury single-family residential, country clubs, mixed-use developments, and many other unique projects.
- Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Work with the lead Interior Designer, and Architectural team members in realizing all aspects of the project from concept through construction documentation.
- Develop design concepts, solutions and presentations for residential and hospitality interiors based on the direction given by the Interior Designer, and Architectural Partners.
- Prepare presentation materials including drawings, renderings, and product samples
- Research and specify architectural finish materials, fixtures, lighting, hardware and furniture based on design, and functional criteria
- Develop architectural finish, plumbing, lighting and appliance schedules and interior detailing
- Maintain sample library materials, and communicate with product representatives
- Help with the pickup and delivery of samples, or products as necessary
- Assisting with project installations and photo shoots
- Create marketing content across all platforms as directed by the Business Manager

- Technical Proficiencies
- Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office Suite
- Working knowledge of CAD
- Lumion experience preferred
- Training and Experience
- Minimum 4-year Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- Minimum of two years of experience working with an architectural or interior design firm
- Strong analytical, conceptual, organizational, and time management skills
- Concise and personable verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of furniture, fixtures, equipment, materials, and building finish products suitable for residential and hospitality projects
- Knowledge of design detailing and documentation
- Experience with wood frame construction preferred
- Requirements
- Bending, lifting, and carrying samples up to 40 pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Driver’s License
