Perched along a scenic riverfront, this full-time residence was designed to reflect both its coastal setting and the client’s personal ties to the U.S. Coast Guard. The home’s crisp red and white exterior is a subtle nod to classic Coast Guard station colors, while its clean lines and orientation maximize light and sweeping water views.

Cove Light balances modern efficiencies with timeless regional character. The plan centers around an open-concept first floor that seamlessly connects kitchen, dining, and living areas, all positioned to celebrate the view. Above the garage sits a private guest suite, rounding out a layout that includes three additional bedrooms, a bunk room, and an elevator for long-term accessibility.

Environmental performance played a key role in the design. Triple-pane windows, solar panels, and a geothermal energy system contribute to the home’s near-complete self-sufficiency, aligning with the client’s desire for sustainability without compromise.

While interiors introduce touches of nautical symbolism and bright accent colors, the architectural story lies in the home’s spatial
clarity, thoughtful massing, and material palette, where polished woods, durable finishes, and classic coastal references unify the structure with its riverfront site.
